My story begins when my family moved to Costa Rica in 1997 when I was 9 years old. We lived on a secluded mountain without electricity, spending evenings reading by kerosene lantern. The stories would come to life in my mind, teleporting me to whole new worlds. My days were filled with adventures, using creativity and my imagination. This experience sparked my creativity and inspired me to pursue a career bringing visually stunning concepts and ideas to life. In 2007, I worked as a professional Christmas light installer, creating large-scale shows and displays for homes. One homeowner was so impressed with my work ethic he offered me a job at his printing company in the Pre-press department, doing layout, digital editing, and design. From there, I began doing graphic design work with my father's company, which led to a marketing job involving video, web, print, and 3D services for various clients in the Houston area. My first 3D project was for a company using submersible drones to map the ocean floor in Blender in 2011. Ever since then, I fell in love with every aspect of the 3D industry. I was self-taught until I finally went back to school to get my associate's degree and continued to Think Tank Training Centre in Vancouver, one of the leading schools for VFX and CGI for film and games. Since my graduation in 2018, I have worked at an augmented reality company, covering most aspects of the medical, industrial, and utility industries as a one-man shop. Starting at an entry level I quickly excelled until I became the Senior 3D Generalist and Department Lead growing the department and managing a team of five other artists. This included hiring, training, and mentoring. If you ask me what my number one passion is in life, the answer would be learning. By learning, I can share my experience and be open to new ones. This drives my desire to excel and stay up-to-date with the ever-evolving industry, adopting new practices and techniques. With 17 years of experience in a wide range of positions, my ability to inspire others and be inspired by using feedback and clear communication ensures effective collaboration. My commitment to reliability and creative problem-solving drives successful outcomes. This versatility allows me to contribute to a wide range of projects, bringing concepts and visions to life.
